Bithday Candles Singapore

Quito - Panama

After a rather boring game, we wanted to go to the Centro Historico of Quito. to get a taxi was an impossibility, and so we took an express bus yet. Unfortunately, this was after about half way down, are all the passengers had to disembark. Unfortunately, the following buses are all packed and so we decided to go eat and watch the first half of Brazil, Ivory Coast there. During the break we looked for a taxi but then what we should bring more to our original goal. Fabio Hug and wanted to look at even the second half of the game, while Lueku, bag and I looked a bit in the old town of Quito. The Centro Historico is built on a hill and when one goes up a little, you can look over large parts of the Old Town. After we had gone up a long stairway in the neighborhood (and you could see the almost 3,000 feet breathe when sizeable) and the great basilica had visited, we went to a market and I finally bought new shoes because the old ones for some time were broken and I had thrown away in Banos the things around me to finally put themselves under pressure to finally buy new ;-) The sales girl was only for the beautiful black and yellow shoes over $ 40, what then was a bit exaggerated and I negotiated the things down then at least still 28 dollars. We spent the evening in La Mariscal, the starting area of Quito, near Beer-pong and foosball, with Fabio and Hug's the kicker - Dream Team turned out and remained unbeaten on two evenings.
The next day bag and Lueku made a trip to the National Park which is nearby. Since Hug, Fabio and I still would rather see Switzerland and Chile, we stayed in the hostel and after a delicious breakfast (finally again gabs really fine Ruchbrot!) in a German guided by a cafe, we headed to the Teleferico. The cable car to a high of 3000 meters to over 4100 meters. Later I realized then that I was never a hoehergelegenen site. And the few hundred yards to a viewpoint but rather strenuous at this altitude.

After we had eaten the most expensive and pretty much the worst Salchipapas, we drove back down to Quito. In the way back in the cable car, we discovered a small valley below the theme park. Spontaneously, we went after arriving there. In addition to a roller coaster and other carnival-ride devices, it was a huge game room with video and other games, and below a real go-kart track! On the way there it started to rain, however, and the price of $ 5 for 5 minutes and no discounts for longer travel time, finally gave us on it.
rode a taxi back to the hostel we are waiting for the two hikers who emerged finally at about seven clock too. Then we went to eat in an Argentine restaurant. For Ecuadorian relations wars very expensive, but the filet mignon with vegetables Karfoffelstock and left for 9 dollars, seen and tasted delicious. Then we went a bit into the bars and let the evening end again at the kickers and Beer Pong. The next day we left Fabio then headed for home. We put up a chilly day and read to all and watching football and tennis. In the evening we went straight to the Argentines again around the corner and we wanted to bag & get something to smoke. Unfortunately, he got angry and ripped the nice lady sold him a piece of foam for $ 5 .... what you learn from this? Now Always examine what you want :-) Finally

was my departure from Panama. The squandered again tomorrow with football and tennis (keyword Isner-Mahut :-)) and again enjoyed the delicious breakfast at the German. Bag & went after breakfast quickly returned to the bank and when, he told us that were on the road next to our hostel went off grade two with knives on each other and the whole street was full of blood ..... not a great sight .. The .. three other left Quito by bus to Colombia, while I took a taxi to the airport. I had planned to check in early and then cozy before departure to check-Germany Ghana somewhere in the airport. Forget it. First I had to switch to a front of the check-in desk queue, it seemed sure good 40 minutes until it times an employee of Copa Airlines and then asked how many pieces of luggage each passenger they had to check. Then again half an hour at the check-in were determined in desk, interrupted by a civilian police officers stood in front of me suddenly and asked for the pass and I finally said I would have to come along for a Gepaeckkontrolle. Oh great .... After going through the contents of my backpack scans were also examined and had my shampoo and sunscreen thoroughly, the same policeman led me after all again at the head of the queue at the check-in desk. But that was not all. The lady at the check-in counter I wanted to know whether I have a return flight from Panama. I told her that I would fly to Panama on July 3, from Caracas. She turned but still not satisfied and wanted to know if I would have to Caracas from other flights. I was on the flight to Madrid on July 12, they asked me the reservation number, without this they could not check me. Slowly, I was a little annoyed. Why on God's will be of interest to a staff departure in Quito when I travel to Panama for where and before especially with what flight I fly out after my return from Panama, Venezuela? I did not get a satisfactory answer. had to be as I call Lueku, I of course my reservation data for a flight from Caracas to Madrid was present (who surprised there?) if I want to fly from Quito to Panama .... I finally reached after about half an hour somewhere Lueku sat on the bus and he could provide me with the appropriate data. Finally I got my boarding pass and I went as quickly as possible to passport control. Before the passport control was a nice gentleman in a gray suit and wanted to see my boarding pass and asked me if I had not paid schliessllich the airport tax. I replied that this is but usually when you post the flight pay. Not appear in Quito. I had to once again back in the check-in hall and there was a switch abzudruecken it to 40.80 U.S. dollars .... na toll .... Finally, I had yet done and the pass security checks and actually proceeded without further difficulties. In the departure hall, I could then the last half hour of Germany-Ghana can see, after all. :-) Jeanine wanted to pick me up after landing in Panama. Unfortunately, the bus from David at the moment where she was late and she did not know exactly when they would arrive. Once in Panama, was still inside the bus with Jeanine a flat tire and it still lost more time. I took a taxi to the center. Well that was me before what it said Jeanine ungefaher would cost, but the taxi driver demanded prompt first twice, but came quickly with the price down when I intervened enerigsch. But that would still three more people in the same taxi ride he said before me or were the Canadian Indians, who protested at first but then appeased when he told me that he would only others to deliver to their hotel and bring me then to the agreed meeting point would. Since I was in no hurry, I was clearly in agreement, although the 16 dollars I paid you are still needed, although the others had exactly the same pay much or probably more, were already a little sassy ... but whatever. The ride into town was quite an experience, it was just at dusk and the skyline of Panama City in which light was pretty impressive. The contrast between Wellblechhuetten a road next to the skyscrapers was impressive. In the city you barely have the feeling in a Latin American city to be, they could just as well somewhere in the U.S. lies. After I had unloaded the taxi driver at the meeting place, he pointed out to you that in this street "mucha chicas" would give a smile frivolous, finally, he gave me his card and gave me to call him when I say "any need something would" :-) After I had eaten something and Jeanine finally after an hour but still appeared ;-) we went looking for a hostel that a well-known in Panama City by Jeanine would lead. Unfortunately, he took the phone off and we were not wandering around after some also simply too tired (and I too sweaty, the difference was around 20 degrees made to Quito me to create something ;-) we finally went for 10 dollars in a hotel. The next day I showed Jean the sights of Panama City. First we took the taxi to the bus station, where we set our luggage and bought our bus tickets for the night bus to Almirantes from where the boat to Bocas del Toro where Jeanine lives leave at the moment. Then we moved to the famous Panama Canal. The Panama Canal connects the Pacific with the Caribbean Sea (Atlantic) and the cargo ships spared the long and dangerous detour around South America. On each side each bring three huge locks-sectors, the vessels to 28 meters above the sea. The locks connect several artificially created lakes on the mainland of Panama together. The size of these systems is already very impressive and the numbers, facts and more. The mindestgebuehr the Panama Canal locks, respectively the sixth amounts to use to $ 1,500 for the smallest ships and boats and can depending on the size of the transport ship to well over 150,000 U.S. dollars. had triggered the first phase alone, the French came (mainly from disease) is far more than 20,000 workers lost their lives, so that the building had to be stopped at all. (Around 1886) began to take over U.S. responsibility and built from 1903 to 1914 the Channel with the 6 lock sectors finished. Also in large losses for the workers. Even later, the Panama Canal, above all, in political Auseeinandersetzungen more deaths. For example, in 1964 as a civilian on ground of the Panama Canal penetrated and raised the flag of Panama. The U.S. soldiers then fired on the unarmed civilians and killed some of them. Only in 1999 gave the U.S. responsibility for the canal to Panama and moved all the troops from the canal. After the interesting visit to one of the most important waterway in the world we went back by taxi to the city. There it went to Casco Veijo, the old part of Panama City. The taxi driver was very talkative and told us on the ride as a lot about themselves and the city. We drove by less good areas of the city and the taxi driver showed us exactly in the area of his birth house, which lay directly in our path. In the old town at the moment everything is in flux. The run-down houses are hollowed out and renovated, the old city to create an even bigger tourist interest. That this practice is of course at the expense of poor people is, unfortunately, today, not only here everyday. The old people get a year's time to look for something else and move out, the newly renovated apartments they can then afford severally Of course, not rich people and take over the district "gentrification" in its blatant kind ... You feel as a tourist, then all of the beautifully renovated Houses look somehow almost guilty .... The city built directly on the sea certainly has its appeal, the contrasts in advance if you can look over from the old to the new part, stand in the way, many of the skyscrapers under construction for several years. Only when are sold on a stick, the apartments will be built further. The Kraehn of the skyscrapers are an integral part of the image of Panama.

After a stroll through the old town it went into a long shopping street. Unbelievable how many shops there were and how many goods were still sold at very reasonable prices there. Although the locals warn go there, but by the day, the area is quite safe and there is no problem, accordingly, we also had no problems. After a late lunch (and the first very good pasta on this trip at all ... al dente in America is unfortunately probably not a very common expression ;-)) and a fine white sangria is Jeanine left still cut fast for six dollars the hair and after a beer we went even to the bus terminal. The bus ride was relatively quiet and I slept surprisingly well. Only the Trade-Off involuntary pause in the middle of the night because our bus broke down, had not necessarily have to be. Otherwise it was but all in all very fast. And the road conditions are no match with Ecuador and Venezuela. Jeztz I'm so since last Friday in Bocas and I like it here very much. Jeanine on Saturday had already re- to David, because John so after his skateboard accident still needs care. But here you can even without the "Guide" entertaining and very well thanks to his cousin Jean who is also almost a "local" I have no problems here. Oh briefly on the situation: is Bocas del Toro is an island on the Caribbean side of Panama. So really it is a district of Panama's many islands includes. Colon and the island on which the district capital of Bocas del Toro is. All around there are several smaller islands are accessible by water taxis. Among the island Bastimentos on its own is only spoken on the island occurring language, a mix of English and English, the name of the language escapes me, all you can, after all not notice. Actually it was planned that this Tuesday I would go to David, but I have spontaneously decided to stay until tomorrow. Respectively, yesterday evening has decided for me :-)

Guayaquil - Banos - Quito

The sun came in Montanita not to light and we let the day end with some beer. Some of them went then to a beach party while I left after the long day with quite a lot of beer to bed. The last Fabio finally came back and his condition after a few more beers and a bottle of vodka, could be described as "stable" :-)
The next morning I was awakened very early one excavator, one next to our hotel on the beach any large stones pushed around. So I was then time for the second half of New Zealand and Slovakia in a bar the other stood then at some point, so we could look at for breakfast the second game. As the weather is still not able to join in, we spent the day looking to actually eat, drink and football. At 5 clock drove our bus back to Guayaquil. We walked back to us already known Sander Hotel. Because, unfortunately, in the area except Ausgangsmaessig are permeable Discos nothing was really good, we went to bed early.
The next day was already waiting at 14.00 clock (and on a Wednesday) the game against Emelec LDU Quito.

June 16, 2010 CS Emelec - LDU Quito
Seria A, Ecuador, Estadio George Capwell, Guayaquil about 22 000 spectators (about 30 guests)

We squeezed again to five in a taxi and let us go to the stadium. We had read on the Internet in the run that by Emelec fans who had been to the Auswaertssieg against city rivals Barcelona in the stadium, free admission, would enjoy. Since the stadium holds only about 24,000 viewers, we thought it would have probably not too many spectators, especially since even at this rather unfavorable scan time from 14.00 clock. But we were quite disappointed. When we arrived at the stadium shortly after twelve, this was already packed. We walked around the stadium and tried our luck to get into the stadium. And indeed we have been let. A nice gentleman wanted to show us where we would find our seats and stood on the sidelines. The Lord stated we would simply go over the place and there again at another door inside. So we stood so suddenly to fifth on the lawn of a crowd filled with over 20,000 narrow stadium. A horny experience, especially since we the fans behind one goal when we came there in the vicinity were also booed yet, no idea why :-)
During the running of the teams, throwing rolls behind two goals and one behind the door a little smoke. The mood was initially very good, especially after the victory at Emelec had indeed taken over the Tabellenfuehrung Barcelona. Unfortunately, our expectations after this very fine performance by the fans of Emelec the Derby is not met. All in all, for the crowd of spectators in the stadium quite close enough going on. This was certainly the least exhilarating game which luckily still had another climax. In the 93.Minute Emelec was still the winner and the stadium was completely at least once this afternoon head. And then we realized the potential that would have actually Emelec. The whole stadium went wild and it was incredibly loud. if the police had cleared the stadium after the game, not quite early in the Emelec fans would have been a little while singing. As it was, we were chased by police from the stadium. We were walking back towards the city center. As the others have not in the quarter-Las Penas were that Mark and I had already visited, I accompanied her there and went, finally, the entire 444 steps again to high. At least it was not as hot as yet for Mark and me. We were still down in a bar, drank a few beers before Lueku bag and still wanted in the main because they had learned in the last match in Guayaquil locals know any girls. The address at which they were meeting broke, but all people that they asked the head shake only, and the next morning we were to learn that even the taxi driver was she refused to it to bring :-) Fabio, Hug and I stayed a little in the nice quarter, the evening left a cozy feeling drunk, again a Jarra (pitchers) of beer and watched us on TV like Barcelona vs Olmedo not about a 0-0 out and therefore hardly just 3 points behind Emelec. The next day was planned to go to Riobamba there to take a tourist train (that is, better a railcar). Unfortunately, we were told that the line we selected was currently under construction and therefore has not been driven. So we decided to go to Banos, a 15,000-population of tourist town at the foot of the Tungurahua volcano erupted about three weeks and had crippled the ash cloud at times the airport in Quito. At the bus station we found the same a company whose bus would depart immediately. You could print us but a ticket because the bus would actually left already. But at the exit to the buses we were due to the lack of tickets (and they wanted to sell us on the bus) do not pass. Negotiate everything from the staff of the bus company did not help. The security people did not happen to us and so the bus drove off without us. So we went back to the switches and luckily found a bus that would leave only a short time later. Also, it worked this time with tickets so we could compete with the 5 and a half hour drive. Since it went into the mountains, the trip was in accordance with winding and bumpy. But with music in the ear we went to some extent. It also would have the time with a film that ran on the bus can drive as it was in English I left that remain once and quickly put my Ipod loudly as possible to the speakers of the bus which carried about the tone of the film to uebertoenen. A number in front of me sat one of the already after two hours behaved very uniformly, and the bus began to smoke and also because of him than other passengers came on, he smoked on calmly. The highlight was definitely when Lueku had sat briefly with his back to him on the seat next to him so he could talk to something with us. When I zuffaellig glanced at him, he was calmly it to masturbate ....
Lueku was quite quickly from the seat on ;-)

When we arrived in Ambato, suddenly it was said we would have to change, although told us the bus was driving directly to Banos. It made quite the impression that the driver did not want to even go on to Banos, we should have been the only ones who wanted to go there. So he paid a short hand to the other bus that he was going on and we had to go on it yet. Luckily, the bus even a lot more comfortable than the previous one and so it was not a problem for us.
Banos, located at about 1800 meters and, as already mentioned known for its active volcano, of which some thermal and Schwefelbaeder in the small town are fed. It is also a mecca for rafting, canyoning, etc. Also it has some impressive waterfalls in the area flow into the Rio Negro. soon after the arrival of our well selected and displayed Hostel Fabio was happy, but it should extend to the crucial final game of the NBA shown live on TV. Lueku and Fabio went shopping and cooked in the hostel so slightly and watched the game, while bag, and I devoured Hug in the city with a good Italian pasta and pizza. Back at the hostel we also looked at something Basektball and talked with the three other Swiss citizens in addition to America's medical students who worked in the hospital at the hostel were also Banos. Suddenly we were aware of the noise out of pure curiosity and from a place not far from the hostel came. We went out briefly and saw just a Futsal game was underway and which is obviously went a lot. In any case, the square was fringed by 500 determines the one people HEIDENLAERM organized and fully went along with the game. We were able to find out that it was a semi-final game (from what we learned, unfortunately, not) We stayed there until the end and looked at the spectacle. At the final whistle x-stormed the field and spectators celebrated the victorious team frenetic. Was certainly very amusing.

The next day we had planned to make a bike tour that had been recommended to us and which was praised in the guide books. From Banos should along with the bike go down the Rio Negro Payo that about 66 Kilomter away from Banos. Unfortunately it was raining lightly when we got up, but decided but then to make the tour. Hug Just wanted to come along and would rather not go a little walk around Banos. So we rented mountain bikes for $ 5 and let us give a map with the route. The majority of them led to the main road down to Payo and it should only be "some small inclines. First, it was actually mainly downhill. After about 8 miles, we passed a bridge where rumhantierten several people with ropes. They offered a jump rope on the 25-meter-high bridge. Lueku finally found the courage and made the jump, it was to see him but that he was pretty scared :-) But I would have not done so respectfully. The guide spoke pretty good German and so we learned that He had worked 14 years as a guide for Alpine Rafting in Interlaken, where even partly responsible for the House was that you have introduced on-running metropolis, as he told us. We continued our journey and some Kilomter was more to admire a double waterfall, one with a small transport cable car went off the road into the canyon of the Rio Negro down, reached. Then you have crossed the river on a suspension bridge. On the other side we received the 50 cents a lady wanted to enter into the close of the waterfall to come and see the "ruins". We were not after all to see but finally paid the 50 cents to go to the waterfall and the "promised" by her ruins. The ruins turned out as any foundations, and a toilet which was on a ledge .... Back at the suspension bridge and showed the nice lady but a folder full of pictures and we saw what it was all about. About three months ago, a flood from the previously only made two simple waterfall and washed away a little paradise with you. Under the waterfall was previously a small hotel with a natural pool and lush gardens with tropical plants and flowers. It really must have been a little paradise. From the sadly nothing more to see, except gravel, stones, mud and slush. Very impressive how nature always leads us humans in mind that they are at last becoming mightier .... is something we could continue even with a other transport cable car ride over the entire canyon and look at the waterfall or from above. Here, too, saw the violence which had to have had the water is very impressive. Otherwise, however, the valley was we went through the incredibly beautiful with the bike. Wooded steep slopes and over smaller or bigger waterfalls. With the shutdown but then it was over and a few hefty counter slopes now followed the departures. Finally we had to abandon our plan to drive up to Payo and drove about 30 miles to a bus of our bikes on the roof band back to Banos. I'm still annoyed that I forgot my camera and these unique impressions and landscapes could not immortalize in photos. After we
were back in Banos, we went to eat something, and finally back to the hostel. Lueku bag and had already decided to go in the evening to Quito to explore the night life there a little. Hug, Fabio and I stayed in the quiet but cozy Banos and went to evening in a natural sulfur which we after a hard day but really enjoyed. Hug also was quite broken but it was an impressive line moved. But the bathroom was really great and even the volcano rumbled a few times threatening in the distance as if to remind us why we even sit in the bathroom could.
The next morning we went after we had yet seen the second half of the first World Cup game against 9 clock in the direction of Quito, being on the bus the game in Australia, Ghana has been transferred. had checked arriving in Quito, we took a taxi to the hotel in the bag and Lueku. We wanted something after the quarter in which we (La Mariscal) explore. Unfortunately it was raining at 15 degrees once again and we did a little tour and let us finally down for three hours in a Mongolian-All you can eat and beat us their bellies full. Included were (but watery) cocktails which we also down poured a few ;-) Finally, we went even further, into a tavern, kick AGAINST (with Hug and Fabio unbeaten remained unchanged Alternate bag Lueku and me) to finally have Beer Pong to play. A fun game where you do meet with a ping pong ball into cups of the other teams had to be, which is then drunk by the team. It caught me particularly hard. During bag & tip had only a cup, I had virtually the entire rest of the tough old ... what was then felt something :-) Finally we went in search of a ska-punk pub we look after a little too found, but sadly not the ska and punk pub as we had been recommended, but a normal disco. So we finally went back to the hostel. Today we had
far too early in the spring, but the game against LDU Quito awaited CD Olmedo was kicked off at 11 (!!!) clock.

Jun 20, 2010, LDU Quito - CD Olmedo
Seria A, Ecuador, Estadio La Casa Blanca, Quito about 3500 spectators (about 50 guests)

after we had unsuccessfully asked a few people on the street where the stadium lies because we took us a taxi and drove to the stadium. Outside the stadium very little going on in there and also in about 62 000 seater stadium any more. Ultimately, some 3,500 spectators gathered in the magnificent stadium which has some similarities with the Barcelona stadium in Guayaquil had one goal back about 100 LDU by fans sang at least 90 minutes. But otherwise was not very busy and the game was a one-sided affair. LDU quickly led 2-0 and shortly afterwards, a Olmedo games for a rather harmless foul also sent off. LDU was before the break through nice volley from a corner, the 3-0, which, in the second half to finish even higher bolted into a 5-0.

Plantronics Headset C65 Connect

Galapagos - Guayaquil - Montanita

On Thursday afternoon we took a cab driver still in the Highlands of Santa Cruz Island where there were giant turtles to admire in the wild. First he drove us but to a natural tunnel, which was created by lava flows and should be about 400 feet long. We could go through the tunnel and then he picked us up at the other end again. We were amazed as we boarded our sandals in the tunnel. Turned out the way but as the half-climbing, and at one point you had to do almost lie on the ground to get by. Quite dirty but we were then on the other side. Very impressive what created nature can do. He then drove us further into the area in which many of the 3,000 giant turtles that live on this island was home. On a tour we were able to observe some of the animals to eat, bathe in pools, etc.. Very Impressive. Then it was back in the city. We walked around a bit in place before we were picked up for dinner. In the middle of town was a road on which we were in the afternoon travel by taxi, disabled and street restaurants in the street had their chairs and tables. After the wonderful fish with coconut curry sauce with rice, we went for a few beers in a Cash at more or less serious talks, leaving the human race and their interaction with nature, we finish off the evening. The next morning we had already at half past eight for breakfast and then we took a taxi to the airport on Baltra. At breakfast we watched the first few minutes of the opening game of the World Cup. Baltra is often simply called "The Rock". The island that once was actually with Santa Cruz together, separated by a relatively narrow channel from the rest of the island. Ferries to get people to the island and then goes on to a bus airport. All over the island you can still see the traces of WW2. The U.S. had to "The Rock" a base of the Navy and Air Force in order to protect the Panama Canal. have the end of the seventies (if I understood correctly) wanted Ecuador to foreign armed forces but not on the archipelago and the U.S. withdrew its troops from Baltra. still remains are a few bunkers, concrete floors and some crooked barracks. Quick check-in done and already about one hour before the scheduled departure time our flight was at the (single) Gate called. We finally lifted about 20 minutes before the scheduled time already towards Guayaquil. Once there we took a taxi and let us drive to be made in advance with the other hotel Sander. Lueku, Hug and Fabio came so again on Saturday from Cuenca to us. After we moved for cheaper $ 17 a double room had, we went a little look at the city. Guayaquil is located above the mouth of the Guayas into the sea caused by the confluence of two other rivers (name omitted ;-) at the height of Guayaquil. The Delta Guayaquil separated from the lying on the other side of town Duran. The two cities are the longest bridge in Ecuador (2.5 miles!) Connected to each other. The city has about 3 million inhabitants. Flat roof buildings, the city not particularly beautiful, with simple and skyscrapers. On Guayas but it has a 2 km long promenade, the Malecon 2000, with restaurants, gardens and even an artificial Imax cinema. Since we were tired from the trip but we went after that very little food (delicious fried Fish with a lot of rice for 3 dollars) and then went back to the hotel. The next day we looked at the hotel the second World Cup match on the day and I still did my laundry in a Lavanderia nearby, but since I was 3 days with the same T-shirt on the way :-) thank god there Deo spray :-) Then we went again into the city at the Barrio Las Penas go. The historic district, located on the slopes of Cerro Sant Ana against the river forms the historic core of Guayaquil several years ago and was completely renovated and turned into a magnet for tourists. 444 steps lead one to very high on the hill through the narrow streets of the neighborhood's houses are all brightly painted. War in the tropical climate of the city a very exhausting thing. On top of the hill is a small chapel and you have a good view of the Malecon and the rest of the inner city. After the 444 steps we had gone back down, we went back to our hotel to look at us at half past one in the third game of the day between England and the U.S. on TV. Leider wurde der Empfang mit fortdauer des Spiels immer schlechter und am Ende erkannte man kaum mehr etwas, aber so interessant war das Spiel allem anschein nach sowieso nicht :-) Lueku, Fabio und Hug kamen dann gegen drei Uhr aus Cuenca an und in zwei Gruppen we went in a taxi towards the stadium where the evening at 19.00 clock the city derby between Barcelona and Emelec Guayaquil took place. The two teams with the largest Annex against each other. First (Barcelona) to second (Emelec) in the current season against each other. It was so expect a lot. Even the whole day we saw people running around in the city with yellow (Barcelona) or blue (Emelec) shirts, with the yellow appeared yet in the majority. In a stadium that holds 90 000 spectators not entirely illogical.

Jun 12, 2010, Barcelona SC - CS Emelec
Seria A, Ecuador, Estadio Monumental, Guayaquil, 75000 viewers (ca.10000 guests)

was a kilometer from the stadium around the Avenida after the home club named in the Estadio Monumental Barcelona Sporting Club, is blocked by the police for vehicles so that we all remaining Way to the stadium had to go on foot. All the way with dozens of people standing tickets for the game. It was unbelievable how much tickets apparently sold on the black market. So many Ticketverkaeufer I have personally never seen any case. Before the stadium had a lot of police, according to a newspaper in the hotel rested to over 1,700 policemen have been deployed. After we had waited in vain for Hug and Fabio, we finally went to the stadium and met the Dortmund bag again we had already met in Colombia and Venezuela. Our first class seats high up over the direct Gaesteanhang, on one half of the main stage were housed. Even before the game between the two Fanlagern pleasantries exchanged, and all types of PET bottles, and stuffed beer mug flew from the bottom or top of each other's fans. And this nota bene on the main grandstand. The stadium is an imposing building with two huge and Short side in second place on the main and only Gegentribuene inheritances with boxes. The Emelec fans early on and would not sing the songs have been the Barcelona deafening booms from the speakers and repeated every few minutes, it would be before the game was very impressive. Prior to the game there are already some sculptures, objects in themselves and Gaesteblock pulled in as the Barra by Emelec (As usual, just before the game) was in full block made relatively unzimperlich place. As Finally, the teams entered the lawn were the two curves of Barcelona is a nice intro with confetti and thousands of yellow smoke. But the left Gaesteanhang rags and had no blue smoke rising to the sky and casting reels and a few torches and turn signals, the beautiful image rounded. After only about 3 minutes, the first highlight: Emelec went through glorious free kick, which came into leadership. The Hinchas by Emelec engaged with us for the first time completely. A wonderful goal celebration accompanied by all sorts of flying from the main stage Wurfgegenstaenden and from the boxes in the direction Gaestefans. The atmosphere stunning and I had goose bumps more than once sang as the entire block of Emelec. Barcelona was our places, unfortunately to the wheels with something not often, but we certainly saw some movement in the block including some very wild Pogo. The mood was seen all over his game really well, what was the Gaesteanhang certainly due to the good performance of their team. When compensation rather lucky for Barcelona with a Kopftor the stadium seemed to explode right and flew us back all kinds of cups and another only this time in the other direction. Emelec was still in the second half of the earned and again celebrated by a complete turn off Gaesteblock winner. Again flew full cups and PET bottles in the direction Gaesteblock, wherein a passage of dancing Emelec fan of a full beer cup was made in full. This lifted the cup, pissed pleasurable filled in and threw the cup back where it came from. There was also the final whistle, there are several Bepoebeleien and police their labor of love, the Barcelona fans had applied directly over the Gaesteanhang to leave the stadium move. Finally, when nothing but the celebrating guests mob in the stadium was, we went towards the exit and then went the way back to the blocked road and caught there like a bus Surprisingly, also the same for our hotel went by and we were able to jump out quickly on a Kreuzrung. Hug and Fabio came a little later on ... and were completely disappointed. Apparently was of the immense feeling of Emelec fans little to nothing with them arrived on the Gegentribuene. We could hard to believe when they told that in the really incredibly cool outgoing Emelec fans we could watch 90 minutes.

We then searched a restaurant, but this is 10 clock in the evening in the city seemingly difficult and finally went to a fast-food giant (KFC) Then we wanted to end the day actually on a couple of beers. Apart from some fucked up disco and a pub in which a 60-year old man to boy Selle aussehnde Ecuadorian English pop songs the best there and we sit in a row had to because it was so tight in there, we found but unfortunately nothing really tingly and were shortly after a then all back at the hotel. The next day we said goodbye to Mark who flew in the evening Heimwaerts and finally we went to take a 9 clock going to the bus terminal to catch the bus to Montanita on the coast. A huge bus station in which one could run loose and was much bigger than the airport next door. Unfortunately, the next direct bus to Montanita would be only a clock in the afternoon run, so we stop with one change in Sant Elena in about 2 and a half hours were also on target. In surfers paradise arrived at first a little disillusionment. It was drizzling from tiefhaengenden clouds and warm it really was not. Since we were not united in what hotel should we go (Lueku were 10 dollars to much ;-)) we went to two different hotels. Then we found ourselves in the small town at first what was done very quickly. Actually there are only a few streets that make up the center. Just in time for the game Germany-Australia, we were in a restaurant and found ourselves with a beer and a quick bite to eat at the one-sided game. Then we left the day with beer, Cuba Libre and other beverages and a "stop smoking" finish off the sea. Actually we wanted to look at this morning so Holland and Denmark. Since we had yet been launched against two to bed and the game clock started at 6:30 local time, then stop not worry :-) The second game today but we were in for breakfast and then crashed Fabio and I are in the impressive waves on the beach with Italy and Paraguay on time again to sit at a "Torre" and to look at the game. Lueku and bag, meanwhile, had a tour booked on an island off the coast of the "Galapagos for poor" as is. Since I have been on the "right Archipelago" was I allowed to stay but this trip. Tomorrow afternoon sees our plan is actually going back to go to Guayaquil Emelec on Wednesday to watch in their home match against LDU Quito, but who knows, maybe we like it here but too good and the sun, we unfortunately still have not seen, let's see :-)

When Do Lcd Tvs Go On Sale

Bogota - Quito - Galapagos

After visiting the center of Bogota had looked at the historic Plaza Bolivar of course, also must not be missing here, but Simon Bolivar was the first president of Greater Colombia which was still Venezuela, Ecuador, Panama and Colombia today included. In this square are equivalent to some important buildings. So the Congress, the President Palace and the Palace of Justice is to be admired adjacent to the square and a large cathedral. Around the square stretches the old town in the typical colonial style built. These buildings are now primarily Regierungsbueros.

Bogota is situated on a plateau about 2,600 meters above sea level and is surrounded by mountains all around. Just behind the center starts the Cerro Monserrate is served by a cable car. For the equivalent of about 7 francs we purchased a return ticket to the 1957 Bern, of the Von Roll AG-built railway. On top of the Cerro Monserrate is a church and several restaurants and you have a truly impressive overview over the 7.8 million inhabitants, capital of Colombia.
After we reached the cable car, the city again and it was getting dark already, we wanted to look for a mall to buy various things. Unless it was going to come not. Located in the center was closed for an entire street for traffic. Sure about 2 km ranged Verkaufstaende possibility of all of Colombian leather goods over ordinary phone covers to clothing, shoes, DVDs and Esswaren was offered everything would probably find a buyer. In between, on bigger stage on which squares always played live bands. In addition, there was something like open microphones where each had to sing and make music and wanted. So it was young or old rapper Cxhanconiers and dance groups. The whole thing was probably how we found out were from a peace movement who wanted to bring back the nocturnal streets of Bogota by criminals and paramilitaries. It was like a huge festival, hundreds of thousands in the street and an incredibly peaceful atmosphere. Very funny but we got the pure neo-Nazi group in which we suddenly went past ....
In any case we had forgotten the shopping center and completely faszieniert strolled through the crowded streets. At some point, but then we overcame the tiredness and after a quick bite, we went to the hotel. was to sleep but not to think at first, because our hotel is surrounded by a seemingly Student district was everywhere and there were people in front of small bars and drinking, and the constant honking taxis drove past our window. True, it was not really quiet.
We were at a relatively early again and went back into the city and wanted to start a new attempt to find a shopping center. Unfortunately, the selected right in the Noble District and was more a collection of expensive shops. So we finally decided to Estadio Universitario to run out the play of the second should take place between the Colombian league in 2003 gegruendenten Bogota FC and CD Expreso Rojo from Zipaquira. After an hour we finally reached the Universitaetsgelande the giant in a park is. We had determined again 15 minutes by the Uni-terrain run until we reached the stadium.

Jun 05, 2010 Bogota FC - Expreso Rojo
Torneo Postobon (division 2) Colombia, Estadio Universitario, Bogota, about 250 spectators (0 guests)

Already at the entrance to the first surprise but the admission was free, which the policemen at the entrance but did not prevent each viewer to search thoroughly. The stadium is a small round with high white walls all around, a career, and a small covered main stage. Until the beginning of the game gathered perhaps 250 spectators, including 4 or 5 radio reporter determined in the stadium. Meals were Now there is nothing to what Mark and let me easily tormented by the stand 90 minutes, we had eaten nothing and drank only a little. The game is quite simple. Zero goals, zero atmosphere, practically zero chances . The only "highlight" a direct red card just before the end.

went after uneventful game we back through the university grounds and took a Metro bus. The bus system in Bogota replaced a U-Bahn. The bus goes to extra reserved bus lanes through the city and seems to be very popular. The current green presidential candidate AntanasMockus had as mayor of Bogota pushing this bus system, as the city was close to gridlock. The situation had improved after the construction of the first lines immediately so that today, large parts of the city can be reached with these express buses. Also a line to the airport is under construction. Back at the hotel, we picked up our things and took a taxi to get to the airport for our evening flight to Quito. After a roughly half-hourly check-in process (we had to give first our luggage, stamped then leave to another switch our passport, and only then we got our boarding cards) we were sitting in the airport and drank a bit when Mark suddenly from the toilet came and told he just saw Carlos Valderrama. He just stood in for the security check. Since we already have a photo of his statue in Santa Marta, but we thought we at least make one with the real can be. And indeed he was standing in line and waited. Unfortunately, the border officials were very picky with us and even the authenticity of our passports checked and then we lost sight of him and the photo was then nothing.
D the flight went smoothly and even about 10 minutes before the scheduled arrival time, we landed in Quito. We had booked over the internet for two nights for a hotel that even a free shuttle service offered from the airport, What we at 11 clock in the evening but were happy to deliver. Incredibly at the airport at that time was still going on. Hundreds of people were waiting for arriving passengers including the driver from our hotel then we went in about 5 minutes to the hotel.
We were very tired from the long day, but so that we quickly fell asleep again. The next day we wanted to visit the same three games, and before that book our trip to Galapagos for Monday.

Frueh we were thus on Sunday to move us to the airport to book our flight. There are two airlines that fly to Baltra or San Cristobal in the Galapagos Islands. In AeroGal we had no luck, then the second even more. Tame still had seats available for Monday back back to Guayaquil and Friday for about 350 francs each. So we booked the flight to Baltra and then there would look for a guided tour. The Galapagos Islands can be visited only with a trained by the National Park Management Guide, Individual tours are not possible. After the flight was booked, we went by taxi to the bus terminal at Sangolqui to drive, was a town about 20 km from Quito, which kicks off at 11.30 clock the first game between Indepentiente del Valle and Macara.
Despite the only 20 kilometers to the venue and took the bus about 45 minutes for the route. For 40 cents per person, but incredibly cheap.

Jun 06, 2010, CSD Independiente del Valle - CSD Macara
Serie A Ecuador, Estadio Ruminahui, Sangolqui, about 2500 spectators (150 guests)

The bus driver let us out of the stadium near the city, explained to us the way even more. Unfortunately, the explanation is not true either, or we had not understood him correctly. So we asked a passerby on the street, which meant we like him to follow. After several minutes we stood at the entrance to the stadium. We thanked him warmly at the friendly helpers, paid the $ 6 admission and walked into the stadium. The stadium with two stands on the longitudinal spacing of the pitch. One Tribuene built on the slope. You had to some pretty painted stairs to climb down into the stands to come. Against a modern main stage of steel tubing with sitting areas where the fans of Independiente had made wide. On our side already identify some guests and fans at the end, it was determined by the 150 Gaestefans and twelve on a Sunday morning at half past. Where they practically decorated the fence around the entire width of the fence stands with flags. Outsiders, especially the one they offenslichtlich "Jesus" and called us immediately struck by his alkoholiesiertenZustand. Resemblances to a specific person in the YB-Fanumfeld also with long hair (no, not the "pastor" nor myself are meant ;-)) were unmistakable, especially when it came to the Taktgefuehl clapping and Koerperhaltung. The game to something better level but unfortunately scoreless, so the yellow-red card for the guests represented goalkeeper for twice the time playing the only highlight. Since Macara had changed already 3 times, had a field player, the last-minute injury time in goal. was Curiously highlight that this provides four times the ball by Auskick directly to the opponent's goalkeeper kicked and that the same thing again made :-) was then but the end and we went pre Stadium, a delicious spit ate with sausage, meat, potatoes and bananas which offered outside the stadium on a stretcher Grill was driving and took the bus back to Quito. Obviously we had caught a bus to the route went a completely different than that which brought us back. So we need about an hour to get back to Quito. There were already waiting for the next two games and in the same stadium in quick succession. 15.30 Clock CD played from Quito to Manta el National FC and at 18.00 clock the big game was waiting between the largest association of Ecuador Barcelona SC Guayaquil and Quito Deportivo on us. By taxi, we drove to the Estadio Olimpico Atahualpa. On the Internet we had previously read that the Barra of the Barcelona game because of the high ticket prices would boycott. At the stadium we knew why. The cheapest tickets for seats behind the goals cost whopping $ 15. (Gegentribuene 25, main grandstand $ 35) It contained but also the first game taking place between el National and Manta, and another This game against Deportivo Quito on June 16, Manta, but still it is of course understandable that wants to buy a fan of Barcelona not a ticket for three games when Barcelona played in only one of them. The same is true but certainly also for supporters of El National.

Jun 06, 2010, CD El National - Manta FC Short
Serie A Ecuador, Estadio
Olimpico Atahualpa, Quito, about 500 spectators (0 guests)

ago Match we entered the stadium. In the 40 000 seater stadium barely 500 spectators present to watch your first game did. Of these, already a substantial fraction Barcelona Deportivo Quito and fans. The stadium is a wide round with a covered main stage. The game was one-sided affair. El National took an early 2-0 lead and came Manta in any phase of the game for good scoring chances. In the end, won with 4-0 and El National deserves the obligatory red card had to be there of course too :-) At times, our attention was, however, the activities around the ground. Was there but the Barra of Barcelona participated to vehement protest against the price of tickets. At times there were also skirmishes with the police, but all in all, it remained relatively quiet. When the over 300 Barcelona fans outside the stadium but began to sing songs, was a deliberately what would probably escape us.

Jun 06, 2010 Deportivo Quito - Barcelona SC
Seria A, Ecuador, Estadio Olimpico Atahualpa about 13,000 spectators (about 1500 guests)

Already during the first game was still running, the stadium filled up more . In particular, the Gegentribuene where the fans of Deportivo Quito gathered, came up to kick-off but a look at Maximum number fans together thieves Even before the game when all sang together, but were impressive loud. On the part of the guests from Guayaquil even some presence, many of them came to the main grandstand but because of the boycott of Barra to just not much atmosphere. Interestingly, by the way many sellers that went about in the stands and offered their wares. One of the beer sold did so particularly penentrant in which he kept waving a measuring cup and to "Cerveza" yelled and then still a "ts ts ts" adds. Others went with baskets full of "empanadas" and "Sanduches" rum. They were clearly very tasty with roast meat, onions and tomatoes. Interesting the intro of the Deportivo fans. In addition to casting reels and confetti, they left a fat Feuerkwerk with rockets, hundreds of indicators and also some which ignited the flares go dim a very special atmosphere. And vocally the Deportivo fans did at the beginning of the game to convince a lot. There were also weaker during the game phase, but at least the Barra "Mafia Azul Grana 'sang throughout the game. The game started fast, especially the guests expressed in the first minutes up a gear, but also with Deportivo was dangerous counter-attacking. Deportivo was the longer the game went Immm been more dangerous and would have a better chance of evaluation, they would be gone from the place as the winner. They indulged in various need to do a penalty. So it was finally Barcelona which, after a free kick with a 0-1 final score Kopftor the seal and the lucky victory celebrated frenetically. The referee drew the displeasure of the home audience even as he directed a Deportivo player of the field. We are now in 9 red or yellow and red cards in 9 games is not bad ;-)

After the game we went walk back to our hotel, there should already start in the morning by 6 clock towards the airport and the Galapagos Islands.

clock we reached about seven on Monday the airport. Before check in we had to ueberpfruefen our luggage, because it expressly allowed no food will be introduced to Galapagos. We also had to pay for an entry permit $ 10. Finally we gave up our luggage and our boarding passes in hand, but after a small breakfast in the waiting room was already our flight to Baltra with a stop in Guayaquil. The stop can be roughly summarized as follows: out locals from the plane, the plane in a purely tourist. Virtually the entire plane except maybe 20 people was "replaced". After a half-hour flight we landed in Baltra. That is at the airport Baltra. More than a tower and a small Flughafengebaeude was there ever had. Even when entering another Gepaeckkontrolle, but this time only from hand luggage. Must also pay for visitors to the Galapagos Islands $ 100 entry fee. When we had this behind us and had brought our luggage, we wanted to open in the city to a tour book. But even before the airport, our Lord said a round with a sign on the "Angelique" stand on. Mark only understood nothing and then said, no, he was not, he was finally a woman. The mistake, however, quickly broke up. The Man was still room on his ship the "Angelique" and wanted to sell us a tour. For 4 days he wanted only $ 650, which was too much for us. After being on 560 and finally $ 500 was down, we said spontaneously after a quick look in its prospectus. He introduced us to our guide Alvaro before and to our surprise on the tour were four other Swiss here. Two elderly couples and from Bern, where it turned out later, even as one of my father's garage owner. The world is holding it low. After a short distance we had traveled by bus, we were up in a small boat and were taken to the ship. An older vessel with two masts and a nice deck where you could stay. Including the dining room and even a floor below the cabin with two beds. All with private bathroom, but stop all but very narrow. Later came two more German to mother and daughter and the ship was already a British couple. All in all, very pleasant traveling companions. Shortly after arrival there was already something to eat. Very tasty rice with delicious fish and salad. A foretaste of the next few days when we were eating really verwohent. In the afternoon we went already going to the first excursion: On the island of Santa Cruz, we landed on the beach Las Bachas.
Alvaro led us there until around a bit, we declared the first animals we saw among others. Sea iguanas and there should also be seen Flamengo. Unfortunately, the just not to the open lagoons for visitors. Then we could at the beach or snorkeling. Unfortunately it was overcast and pretty, but we saw some exotic fish. On the beach also has two older Japanese people joined us and Alvaro was busy the first two to explain that it was not allowed to rumzuklettern Felsner because they had not noticed, of course, the first instructions.

Then it was back to the ship and went to a delicious dinner, the ship will go towards Isla Genovesa in the far north of the archipelago.
The ship was anchored in a huge bay which was created by a volcanic crater. There we put the little boat on Prince Philip's Step "on already on the ride along the cliffs, we saw many different Birds including blue-footed and red-footed boobies and referred Fragata birds where the males have a red head in the crop can they inflate during courtship as a balloon. Also lying on the rocks at the cliffs seals.
top of the cliffs was a path through thickets where hundreds even thousands of nesting birds. With some species do not build nests, but the hatching eggs directly on the floor. It was unbelievable how many birds there were flying. We had, according to our guide can also lucky to observe a rare owl species in hunting. In the afternoon we could go snorkeling along the cliffs. Again we saw many amazing fish including Skolare. And finally swam right next to us a few seals.
went the afternoon at the Playa Darwin. There, we also made again only saw a small tour and including a brown pelican of just several young in the nest, had I succeeded with them even a photo. Incredible how small this baby pelicans are compared with the adult. Finally, we could at the beach where we met again snorkelers even a small shark and again herumschwommen seals.

The next day we went to the island of Bartolome. For me the most beautiful day of the tour. First we took a short hike to a volcanic crater where we had an incredible view over large parts of the archipelago. Then we went to a beach, there were again observed from land sharks and Finally, snorkeling again, where I met with a large Galapagos shark, and I even swim with Galapagos penguins, which are only about 40 cm tall, could. A unique experience. In the way back we discovered even a pair of mating Wasserschildkroeten what Alvaro, also known as very rare.
made the afternoon a short hike over the Isla Santiago, which was last minted about 120 years ago by volcanic eruptions. Everywhere, it seemed as if the lava cools only a few years ago and we were able to admire an impressive lava landscapes. In the afternoon, the ship from then to come back to back towards the island of Santa Cruz and the capital Porta Ayura. Since we visited today the center of the national park the Charles Darwin Centre. There we saw giant turtles, including the most famous tortoise "Lonesome George" the last of its kind, had erwaretet on an island on which you no turtles, suddenly walks through the camp of researchers was. Also there was to admire land iguanas.
A trip which has paid off for me in any case, with all the unique impressions that I can take from here.

Diagram Of A Ship And Labeling

Santa Marta - Barranquilla - Cartagena - Bogota

After my last blog entry, we went to five to a taxi to Taranga, with Lueku back across that had another set three, because the driver was afraid of a police check . Taranga is in a small bay just off Santa Marta, is a small fishing village in the run but now mainly tourists. With a boat, we let ourselves for 25,000 pesos (about 12.50 CHF for five people) go to the nearby beach Playa Grande. The beach hidden in a beautiful bay surrounded by mountain slopes. Except a few cobbled together from wood and banana leaves An adjacent restaurant and sun beds there was nothing. The beach not crowded, so perfect. After a first bath in very warm and silent sea, we went to a restaurant that belonged to the mother of that which had driven us in the boat, what a coincidence that he had recommended to us of this. The nice lady brought us even equal to "the map" presented and us on a tray five or six different fish to choose from which one could you wanted. After strengthening again we went back into the sea, with Fabio "YB-fish" was very close to the beach so swimming. Wonderful sight. A dead small fish, we found even on the seabed of us then but a few jokes, brought Hug eh? :-)

Mark and I were then ordered the boat back while the others wanted to stay a little and then went on foot to Taranga. On the boat, Mark made friends yet with Miriam, a 50-year old Colombian, who had a crush on Mark quite the fool, especially when they see them as "la chica loco" designated
;-) In the evening we went by taxi to Eduardo Santos Stadium where the game clock at 19.00 AD Union Magdalena - held Alianza Petrolera.

Jun 01, 2010 , AD Union Magdalena - Alianza Petrolera

Estadio Eduardo Santos, Santa Marta. about 2500 spectators (1 G ast!)

had barely arrived, we, we were accosted already of children for money, this is pushing so that we do not even a photo of the great Carlos Valderrama statue could do which is right outside the stadium. Valderrama is from Santa Marta and is considered the best Colombian footballer ever. Who does not remember the mop of curly hair among other things. was attending as a midfielder than Switzerland at the 1994 World Cup in the United States lost to Colombia 0-2. So we went
halt without photo immediately to the stadium where it was unfortunately not much better and we had only our silence in the stands.
The stadium really nice old school. Round with a nice running track and the covered main stage on which we placed ourselves. We made bags from Dortmund again so quickly that we were six again. On the Gegentribuene there was the Magdalena Barra with some of fence flags and ultimately surprisingly good support. About 200 Hinchas sang and danced by virtually the entire 90 minutes. Although the songs had little melody and were therefore difficult to distinguish one time, but still we were pleasantly surprised. The game on an all-other than simply to record on grass is involved but marked by many errors. Petrolera got the better start and was following a Handspenalty and a red card turned up early on the victory lane. After the gate on the opposite side of us stormed the main grandstand of the way, apparently the only supporters of the guests at the fence and celebrated the Fuehrungstreffer extensively. Magdalena was also subject to ten men, and tried not to more forward to playing. With a magnificent shot them was also the deserved compensation. And after the break it got even better for the hosts. With a nice header, they went even in leadership. But the referee said no further good to the home team and Magdalena also sent a second player for a foul in midfield in the shower. Now began the double superior numbers to make it noticeable and the host turned the game. The lone Gaestefan celebrate of course completely out of the little house and frantically back on. Later he was to invest then with some young people, so it had to bring the police shortly before the end of the game some 30 children and young people through the cabin section to safety. Magdalena pressuring But even nine of them on the compensation which according to another red card, this time for the guests, almost more would be achieved. A header pointed in injury time just over the goal. Finally, it remained at 2-3.

went after the game Let us quickly to the main road, ate a little and then went to a part of Taranga in the output, which then exceeds Lossen still in the hotel pool for the last beer. The next morning at half past nine waited a kind of reputation-bus to bring us to Barranquilla on the side where that return match took place at the Colombian Junior Athletic Championship between Barranquilla and Bogota from La Equidad.

The bus invited us outside our hotel in Marseille from Barranquilla. There, a brief discussion ensued between the driver and us, because we had called the hostel in Santa Marta the price of 10900 per person, but the driver suddenly was 25 000. Clearly not a great amount actually make the difference but rather exorbitant. The hostel in Santa Marta of course, claimed they had called us to demand the price of 25,000 pesos so and we finally paid the somewhat grudgingly, but in the knowledge that it was actually only about 12.50 CHF, and for some distance in front of around 2 hours including pick up and unload the respective hostel. As almost always far it began to rain shortly after we arrived. And how. The street outside our hotel was transformed within minutes into a raging river. Cars were not forward more and were driven off, pedestrians had to fight back with all his might against the wash away. Slowly we realized why the sidewalks so high above the road were built. Instead of going into town, they said why wait hold up the weather and the river had calmed down in front of our hotel. About one hour later the sun was shining and except for a small trickle at the edge of the road from the river was not much left. Where all the water that have flowed through the city must got there? No idea? :-)

So we could still go and something to eat. In a small restaurant with a menu gabs Vegetable soup and main course Choice "Pollo a la plancha" or "Carne frito" for rice and chips and salad only 4500 pesos so do not even 2.50 CHF! We then looked for a taxi to the same 20 minutes to the Estadio Metropolitano to put behind us.

Jun 02, 2010, Athletic Junior Barranquilla - Estadio Metropolitano La Equidad
, Barranquilla, 49000 spectators (about 400 guests)

The closer we got to the stadium, the more people we met in Jersey and the more flags were placed outside the restaurants and bars. Before the stadium was about three hours before the match already all hell broke loose. By the time we were in it took around 45 minutes. When we were finally there, we got our first a supply of water to the waiting time until the start of the game in the heat (probably around 40 degrees) to endure. Already at the time the stadium packed and virtually all of the spectators was 49 000 were already in the stadium! Even before the stadium we went to hooters virtually any duly carried with him on the bag and the stadium was even worse. Even the "program" was actually far about the limits of endurance. On the x-box advertising balloons, any seemingly popular band played live at the stadium and tried to encourage the audience to sing along. In the block where we had landed, obviously lech more rich people and the behavior for more of a "public event" and the constantly annoying .... Noisemaker After two hours
managed eternal wars and then the game started. Although the Juniors had support in both curves and quite a few people willing to fence fans spread throughout the stadium. But the atmosphere left something to be desired. From the main curve, we got out of optical (irregularly saw you jump the curve) and three internal Hauer estates all over his game with nothing. And the second curve next to us knew vocally at all to convince not. Whether it's just the annoying noise level was caused by the dauergetroete or was simply not available on the volume of the song now to be seen again. Presumably there was anyway to both. Also very annoying: In our block was from kick-off but actually sat and people who stood up was pretty harsh sit down from behind the "animated" were of course in hot scenes then won all just to sit down again shortly thereafter.
The Juniors from the beginning to make efforts to make up the shortfall from the first leg 0-1. And indeed. After a disastrous Torhueterfehler was the morning the juniors 1-0. The goal celebration was to be seen everywhere and was quite euphoric. Anyway. But shortly after the gate was being asked to sit again, no sign of great passion ...
The home team pressuring and, after about 20 minutes went by Barranquilla stunning shot the Juniors went 2-0 in leadership. Where again the goalkeeper from La Equidad left a bad impression and the ball would have mitigated with better positional play almost surely. And again, as for the first goal, again by thunderous cheers, but after a short time sat back all but the two curves. And always the annoying .... Noisemaker La Equidad
now needed a goal to become champions and it shows immediately. The Juniors were crowded to the rear and La Equidad field superiority was clear. But before the gate there were the guests of Bogota too harmless so that the hosts were able to save the lead at the break. After about three minutes in the 2nd half but wars happen. To relieve those around us and added a little to our delight the guests was the 2-1 and so they were back on Master Course. Barranquilla needed now so the 3-1 else would it do with the 6.Titel the club's history. They took over the reins again, but as before La Equidad before the break it was now the Juniors which lacked penetration in front of goal. The guests in the same upper level housed about us forge more and more hope and were to the wheels with a first time .... And it will be seemed as if the home fans disappointed. But were about 4 minutes before the end of it a Prellball in the penalty area and the ball in a high arc over the bewildered goalkeeper La Equidad flew into the goal. The stadium course out of control was only behind one goal and then immediately a fight .... a La Equidad again threw everything forward and almost Waehren them the necessary yet still managed to 3-2, but ended up the header attempt from close range over the gate. Was able to start the celebration. We stayed a bit in the stadium were mitjubeln informed and invited to drink. When we, however, we would have to erkraerten go early the next morning to drive to Cartagena and he liked the not so rambled something that Cartagena "all black" and that only Barranquilla Colombia, the place was our place neighbor. We went at least from the stadium to the other to take three and then tried to somehow get through the crowd to the main road to take a taxi to the hotel. This, however, turned out to be simply impossible. The whole city seemed to be on the street, Corso's car and even local vending and constantly continue this Noisemaker .... We decided to go first to the city. Shortly after the stadium, a group of young people the two of us were a little off abzudraengen, but when they changed the street side and the other four guys we could have seen them but from them. But we experienced a few times on the approximately 1-hour walk that you wanted to run up to us or compulsion but nothing happened. Were surely too many people else is on Road. Finally we went to a restaurant, ate in a side street, and above all had a drink, was the walk to the delayed hour thanks to the temperatures of about 30 degrees but still very sweaty. Finally, the road calmed a bit and we were able to take two taxis to our hotel.
The next day we ordered another ring and ride what we called the lady from the reception clock 11 as the next departure Ermin. clock at 10.20 but we were already established. Unfortunately, Mark had gone to the internet cafe round the corner and there he accepted only to have to be back before eleven we finally could not take this bus stop. The driver should be explained to us, if it would mean 11 clock departure to be ready by 10, since this Time he would start with the Collect of the passengers. Nice that you told us it was too late. But shortly thereafter came a new bus and invited us in so we drove off shortly after eleven but still. About 2 hours later we invited back from the bus before that we Hostel. After a quick search for another hostel because said no room had air conditioning, we found a five-room in the hostel Marlin in the old town of Cartagena. And for 18000 pesos cheaper. The room, based trunks unpacked and went off with a detour through the old town towards the beach. Cartagena is considered the most beautiful city in South America and what the old town with hundreds of houses in Konolialstil concerned, they probably are absolutely right. Man imagined somewhere in Spain and not in Colombia. wanted to chat up a bit tedious turn on the permanent of any type to a something. Even worse, it was later on the beach. After we had our first swim in the sea almost too warm (and therefore with some algae near the beach) enjoyed we laid down a little. What immediately attracted a swarm of women who wanted to rub us absolutely. Of course "free" and only "demonstration" Even repeated No they did not almost depend. Mark and Fabio could it happen eventually and the price of 5,000 pesos was an extent. The beach would have good can also be somewhere in Miami. On a peninsula which protrudes into the sea, skyscrapers are en masse, mostly hotels and apartment buildings. We stayed until the sun sank with a dramatic fall in the sea and the old town in the distance with the illuminated towers and houses looked just incredible. Then we went back towards our hostel for a shower then eat in the city something to go. The prices in Cartagena unfortunately adapted to tourism. 22 000 pesos (11 francs) for a filet mignon certainly not much but a lot more expensive than in Santa Marta and Barranquilla. The restaurant where we ate turned out, but despite the rather high prices, as gluecksgriff. The food delicious and the restaurant very original. the menu was a four-page newspaper on the first page on the reports of museums and sights of Cartagena and were in the middle on two sides then the food. And on the last page there was even a Sudoku. After dinner we treated ourselves to even out a few expensive beer (5000 pesos, in Santa Marta we paid 2000-3000) and finally went to sleep late. Around seven, already was our alarm clock. Mark and I had the airport and Fabio, Lueku Hug and wanted to make a trip to an offshore island. Mark and I took a taxi to the airport and after about 15 minutes we were already there. The pilot of the Avianca Air A320 for a very modern with integrated entertainment system more seats and pretty much space. For 70 francs, you can not complain. landed in Bogota, we informed us only as we would come to the hotel and a very friendly man helped us more quickly in perfect English. Here we should speak English only as you learn to that. But we were too comfortable and were grateful for the easy understanding. After arriving at the selected hotel, we were told that would be the moment no-one-free room. A nice gentleman who was standing just at the front desk told us, however, in English, he and his crew would check the same and we certainly could have her room. So it turned out. As the room had to be first cleaned yet, we left our luggage at the hotel and went to eat something first. Equal to a few meters from the hotel we found a typical restaurant, the menu with Vegetable soup, a main course with various side dishes and free Jugo (juice) was offered for only 5500 pesos. After dinner we moved just start again and ran with the luck of the stupid ones right on the Plaza Bolivar of the 7.8 million inhabitants, where are the Palacio de Justicia and the Congress. The Palacio was in the war of left-wing guerrillas headlines when a command were killed by only 30 Guerillieros the courthouse occupied and in the subsequent assault by the army and paramilitary groups against 150 people, including senior judges, especially those of the right wing against the and were often done with the official Army collaborating paramilitary groups. A look at the history of Colombia's worth anyway. Hard to believe that this country is in for a good 50 years Civil war is in the leftist guerrilla groups just as the army and the paramilitaries and drug cartels always the civilian population under the motto "you're not for us, you are our enemy" terrorized. It is at the land evictions by paramilitary groups on behalf of large landowners and big business for the purpose of obtaining Anbauflaechen are still on the agenda. Just as kidnappings and extortion by the guerrillas. In Colombia, has established a system that the political enemies of the current center-right leaders with targeted killings of so-called "death squads" is still almost everyday. Left-liberal circles have enormously heavy and have again and again with repression and persecution expected. Last Sunday was carried out the presidential elections and the rule of Conservative candidate has been able to settle against the brave Oppostionspolitiker Mockus of the new green party just barely. However, since the liberals who are basically the right-wing conservatives for decades with a two-party government, for the second round already support the right-wing conservatives have undertaken are expected to have after these elections do not change much.
So enough of politics, we are now a little stroll through the city tomorrow, we go to 2nd league game of Bogota FC - Expreso Rojo and in the evening already, we go to Ecuador where we are after tomorrow for a trip to the Galapagos Islands will endeavor.

Colaston Hair Color Chart

Von Merida nach Kolumbien

since yesterday afternoon so we are now in Colombia, specifically in Santa Marta, a port city on the Caribbean Sea.

After we read in Merida due to weather three quiet days with sightseeing tours, and enjoy an excellent whiskey ice cream at Gelateria with the world's largest selection of ice cream varieties has even a Guinness book entry. Lueku and Fabio on Friday after all, could still make their glider flight. On Saturday we had to change even our rooms because our extra night because of the international match, Venezuela - which Canada on Saturday had taken place in Merida was not scheduled. Our old room took over a dance group of young people that interferes significantly with the arrival of our previously already enjoyed peace in the vein-Posada Suiza. First we went to, but on the said international match visit.

May 29, 2010 Venezuela - Canada

Estadio Metropolitano de Merida

Test-playing countries, 20,000 spectators (0 guests)

about an hour before the game we met after the ride in the best modern trolley bus of all of South America at the stadium. Expected, was not much going on, so we went directly to the main stage. The 40 000 spectators bidder stadium, about three years ago for the Copa America rebuilt looked quite nice, even the career did not bother much. Behind one door had probably made by the Barra Merida wide, at least there hung some red and white banners and a handful of people also supported in quite often. Otherwise the atmosphere was as expected, mau, containing international match, an unimportant one at that. Venezuela in the first half, but superior to field any more dangerous in front of goal as the offensive in the present is practically Canadian. Just before the break, the 1-0 for the Venezuelans, which left the audience momentarily be a bit louder. After the break, little changed on bad game, and turnovers Fehlpaesse hueber like Over There. Since we had given all a result of tip remained so at least something exciting. Finally, the Canadians succeeded in the last minute after a free kick from the equalizer, which left at least cheer me. Had I but a predicted 1-1. The extracted meal, I would tuck me :-)

Back to town we went by taxi. We went back after a short strengthening in the Posada where waiting for us already, "cones", a Dortmunder Hopper who also was at the game. Shortly thereafter, the Tranztruppe returned home from a gig well, at least were all in weird clothes and makeup appeared. While some again now left in the belts Poco Loco bar stayed in a hostel, and Mark and I read a little. The article ran in the length because then striking said dance group outside in the courtyard held an incredible noise, so that was not to think of sleep. Then we were even for a short time passengers chased out of the room ..... But even then did not change much, especially the leaders of the group held a "talk talk talk" and discussed in crying tones together until late into the night ... When finally getting quieter, our rest room crew was very drunk back and the dance troupe now been repaid in kind, which even Mark and me a chuckle to the lips conjured tired. The highlight was that actually one of the leaders of the group then sent a boy to us to complain ..... wonderful. After a short night we went

Sunday morning to San Cristobal where the return match at the Venezuelan championship between Caracas and Deportivo Tachira FC was held to take place. The first bus would depart at seven clock, we did not reach, however. He was already about 20 minutes before departure time, full, so he drove off even a short time later without us. Shortly afterwards came another bus. Our hopes rose and in fact we were able to enter quickly. But of course it goes in the opposite direction. About an hour we waited in the bus until it was finally accomplished, and also began to move. After about 5 hours we arrived in San Cristobal. Briefly at the bus station the next trip booked after the game to Maraccaibo and down it went with an old baggy containing a bus for the stadium. On the way we had to stand still short of money which in Venezuela due to strict security measures is not so simple. We were able to obtain only 300 Bolivar at a time ... The problem we have mastered but yet and so it went on to the stadium. After about 20 minutes by bus, we reached the outskirts where the same were several stages. Two baseball stadiums, a bull ring, the national football stadium and a little different football stadium.

May 30, 2010 Deportivo Tachira - Caracas FC

Pueblo Nuevo Estadio San Cristobal, 38000 spectators (500 guests)

Cup finals return match Venezuela

Around the stadium was all hell breaks loose. Everything was bathed in yellow-black the colors of Deportivo Tachira. On the way begrudged Lueku, Mark and I are still the best burger for the entire trip (who comes along once in San Cristobal, go to Popeye Burger :-)) Suddenly it began to rain like cats and dogs, we sprinted to the stadium entrance, quickly been found and our special entrance waved through. Unfortunately we were too late and the best places were of course we already occupied us in the end post at the very edge of the main stage to the home block out. Even before the game left to guess what might be going on if Tachira would make up the shortfall from the first leg 0-1. The entire stadium, despite the pouring rain dressed in yellow and black. The number of fence fans impressed. Virtually the entire Fence was ueberhaengt with flags. Unfortunately, the Gaestefans on the other side of the main grandstand were staying, so we have noticed of which little or nothing. Sorry, there was also the first impression of the home fans during the game not what he had promised. In addition to the Barra "Avalancha Sur" which actually sang through the whole game, the stadium was not so much going on as with the first leg in Caracas. Again, a nice intro with casting reels, smoke and fireworks and a huge block flag. The Gegentribuene unrolled a big block flag in the form of the Tachira-waistcoat. The game started brilliantly. After 12 minutes and two beautiful gates of the guest was already 0-2 ahead from Caracas. And something almost unbelievable happened. The first spectators left the stadium already! determined a few hundred flocked back after 12 minutes already clear from the stadium .... it was for Tachira turn now very hard all yet, but still left behind this happen a rather strange impression on me.
Tachira after trying to practice the first goal, but often unlucky. Finally succeeded but the 1-2 first goal and hope to germinate. Until the break Tachira again increases the pressure, also came to scoring chances, but missed all miserably. At half-time again as the image shortly after the 0-2. Lots of spectators left the stadium and went ....
Tachira also expressed after the break for an equalizer, but for a conceded the counter 1-3. The final decision about 30 minutes from time. The stadium was emptying, and now more and more as soon after that fell 1-4, it looked as if the game is over. Scarcely a third of the spectators was the final whistle the stadium. We used the free space and went in the direction Gaesteblock. There has been celebrated, but the euphoria was really Gaesteanhang not in any way. They were more concerned with the still present Tachira fans to humiliate. On the other side of the Gaestblocks started a lot of young people in the direction of the Mater Alien Gaesteblock throw to. We stayed a bit after the final whistle the stadium. However, since the Cup surrender extremely moved in the length, we decided to go. As soon as we arrived at the outlets, it started with us to pop on the forecourt. With their shirts masked youths stormed the entrances to the main stage and plundered the Getraenkestaende the bushes to throw then to the police or all of which carry pallets of drinks. Since we did not know exactly whether the young people wanted to go only to Gaesteanhang or at least it was made to exclude the "rich" in the main grandstand, we stayed above until the top of the grandstand. Finally the police managed the youth of the platform to push away (in which she cast the belongings of the young people of post again threw back ....) We decided to divide us by less conspicuous. We were pointed out by the police rather harshly in one direction and Mark got even a blow with his stick. We removed ourselves from something traenengasverhangenen parking lot and walked towards the main road to get us a taxi about 45 minutes after which we then took and went to the bus terminal where our night bus drove off after about 10 Maraccaibo clock.

After a restless night we arrived at 6 clock in the morning in Maraccaibo and looked for a taxi which would take us over in about two and a half hours the border. In an ancient Chevi we wobbled now on the road for potholes penetrated by Colombian border. Shortly before the border became more frequent police checks. Even before the border we had to show our passports twice. Then our taxi stopped at a nondescript little house. The driver We explained that we would have to then pay the Departure tax of 65 Bolivar. Then it went a few hundred meters, where we had to pick up the exit stamp. Then it was on to the Colombian side. Again, a few hundred meters further we got the stamp and drove the last kilometers to the bus terminal in the border town of Maicao. Shortly after the border checkpoint, another of the Colombian police, who was very friendly and pleasant. In Maicao we had to first take care of money. There was no ATM machines in the terminal. After a failed attempt by credit card our journey to Santa Marta to pay, we offered the people at the bus company, someone to drive his motorcycle into the center to there to withdraw money. A short time later we were sitting in the bus and spent approximately 3 hours and usually asleep except more police checks was not much excitement. Once in Santa Marta, we got all first-time 300 000 pesos (around 150 CHF) and left us in a small taxi ride five of the hotel. Once again, it rained in torrents for an arrival .... Santa Marta was and is an important port city for the region. In front of the beach large freighter at anchor. All in all, makes the city a nice impression are some nice homes in the Colonial to see it again and of course the most in any city lack Plaza Bolivar. Simon Bolivar died here in 1830 by the way in this city. At the Strandpromenande the usual Supplier as well as catering for their resorts also usual pushy waiters are also present of course. It is again very hot last night was the Termometer not below 28 degrees, a high .... on the air conditioning even though it's pretty wicked how much electricity is consumed as well if the thing runs all night ....
We purchased the Hotel Nueva Granada. Nice courtyard and the room key as mentioned for Gleuck with air conditioning. In our climatic conditions do not come cheap but 20 francs, including breakfast is still going. Lueku, Hug and Fabio then went towards the city beach, while Mark and I wanted to take care of the journey. Lueku, Hug and Fabio are in fact go on the road towards Ecuador, while Mark and I decided in view of penitential pilgrimage us 40 hours for pilots and early arrival in Ecuador. Unfortunately, I ran after the book was an accident without big pay attention to the time I booked a flight at nine clock evening from Bogota to Quito, instead of nine clock in the morning .... Just as it seems we can reach the person but fortunately free . cancel
be Today we go to the beach and then wait for the 2nd Division on the evening game against Union Magdalena in Santa Marta Petrolera. Afterwards we continue to Barranquilla where the return match taking place tomorrow evening at the Colombian championship. Afterwards we continue to Cartagena where Mark and I fly to Bogota on Friday. Oh by the way
we had last night, the first cockroach spotted in a room, she ran over Marks bed when he wanted to lie down straight. My sandals prevented but then she could continue rumkrabbeln in our room .... Hasta Luego
