Guayaquil - Banos - Quito
The sun came in Montanita not to light and we let the day end with some beer. Some of them went then to a beach party while I left after the long day with quite a lot of beer to bed. The last Fabio finally came back and his condition after a few more beers and a bottle of vodka, could be described as "stable" :-)
The next morning I was awakened very early one excavator, one next to our hotel on the beach any large stones pushed around. So I was then time for the second half of New Zealand and Slovakia in a bar the other stood then at some point, so we could look at for breakfast the second game. As the weather is still not able to join in, we spent the day looking to actually eat, drink and football. At 5 clock drove our bus back to Guayaquil. We walked back to us already known Sander Hotel. Because, unfortunately, in the area except Ausgangsmaessig are permeable Discos nothing was really good, we went to bed early.
The next day was already waiting at 14.00 clock (and on a Wednesday) the game against Emelec LDU Quito.
June 16, 2010 CS Emelec - LDU Quito
Seria A, Ecuador, Estadio George Capwell, Guayaquil about 22 000 spectators (about 30 guests)
We squeezed again to five in a taxi and let us go to the stadium. We had read on the Internet in the run that by Emelec fans who had been to the Auswaertssieg against city rivals Barcelona in the stadium, free admission, would enjoy. Since the stadium holds only about 24,000 viewers, we thought it would have probably not too many spectators, especially since even at this rather unfavorable scan time from 14.00 clock. But we were quite disappointed. When we arrived at the stadium shortly after twelve, this was already packed. We walked around the stadium and tried our luck to get into the stadium. And indeed we have been let. A nice gentleman wanted to show us where we would find our seats and stood on the sidelines. The Lord stated we would simply go over the place and there again at another door inside. So we stood so suddenly to fifth on the lawn of a crowd filled with over 20,000 narrow stadium. A horny experience, especially since we the fans behind one goal when we came there in the vicinity were also booed yet, no idea why :-)
During the running of the teams, throwing rolls behind two goals and one behind the door a little smoke. The mood was initially very good, especially after the victory at Emelec had indeed taken over the Tabellenfuehrung Barcelona. Unfortunately, our expectations after this very fine performance by the fans of Emelec the Derby is not met. All in all, for the crowd of spectators in the stadium quite close enough going on. This was certainly the least exhilarating game which luckily still had another climax. In the 93.Minute Emelec was still the winner and the stadium was completely at least once this afternoon head. And then we realized the potential that would have actually Emelec. The whole stadium went wild and it was incredibly loud. if the police had cleared the stadium after the game, not quite early in the Emelec fans would have been a little while singing. As it was, we were chased by police from the stadium. We were walking back towards the city center. As the others have not in the quarter-Las Penas were that Mark and I had already visited, I accompanied her there and went, finally, the entire 444 steps again to high. At least it was not as hot as yet for Mark and me. We were still down in a bar, drank a few beers before Lueku bag and still wanted in the main because they had learned in the last match in Guayaquil locals know any girls. The address at which they were meeting broke, but all people that they asked the head shake only, and the next morning we were to learn that even the taxi driver was she refused to it to bring :-) Fabio, Hug and I stayed a little in the nice quarter, the evening left a cozy feeling drunk, again a Jarra (pitchers) of beer and watched us on TV like Barcelona vs Olmedo not about a 0-0 out and therefore hardly just 3 points behind Emelec. The next day was planned to go to Riobamba there to take a tourist train (that is, better a railcar). Unfortunately, we were told that the line we selected was currently under construction and therefore has not been driven. So we decided to go to Banos, a 15,000-population of tourist town at the foot of the Tungurahua volcano erupted about three weeks and had crippled the ash cloud at times the airport in Quito. At the bus station we found the same a company whose bus would depart immediately. You could print us but a ticket because the bus would actually left already. But at the exit to the buses we were due to the lack of tickets (and they wanted to sell us on the bus) do not pass. Negotiate everything from the staff of the bus company did not help. The security people did not happen to us and so the bus drove off without us. So we went back to the switches and luckily found a bus that would leave only a short time later. Also, it worked this time with tickets so we could compete with the 5 and a half hour drive. Since it went into the mountains, the trip was in accordance with winding and bumpy. But with music in the ear we went to some extent. It also would have the time with a film that ran on the bus can drive as it was in English I left that remain once and quickly put my Ipod loudly as possible to the speakers of the bus which carried about the tone of the film to uebertoenen. A number in front of me sat one of the already after two hours behaved very uniformly, and the bus began to smoke and also because of him than other passengers came on, he smoked on calmly. The highlight was definitely when Lueku had sat briefly with his back to him on the seat next to him so he could talk to something with us. When I zuffaellig glanced at him, he was calmly it to masturbate ....
Lueku was quite quickly from the seat on ;-)
When we arrived in Ambato, suddenly it was said we would have to change, although told us the bus was driving directly to Banos. It made quite the impression that the driver did not want to even go on to Banos, we should have been the only ones who wanted to go there. So he paid a short hand to the other bus that he was going on and we had to go on it yet. Luckily, the bus even a lot more comfortable than the previous one and so it was not a problem for us.
Banos, located at about 1800 meters and, as already mentioned known for its active volcano, of which some thermal and Schwefelbaeder in the small town are fed. It is also a mecca for rafting, canyoning, etc. Also it has some impressive waterfalls in the area flow into the Rio Negro. soon after the arrival of our well selected and displayed Hostel Fabio was happy, but it should extend to the crucial final game of the NBA shown live on TV. Lueku and Fabio went shopping and cooked in the hostel so slightly and watched the game, while bag, and I devoured Hug in the city with a good Italian pasta and pizza. Back at the hostel we also looked at something Basektball and talked with the three other Swiss citizens in addition to America's medical students who worked in the hospital at the hostel were also Banos. Suddenly we were aware of the noise out of pure curiosity and from a place not far from the hostel came. We went out briefly and saw just a Futsal game was underway and which is obviously went a lot. In any case, the square was fringed by 500 determines the one people HEIDENLAERM organized and fully went along with the game. We were able to find out that it was a semi-final game (from what we learned, unfortunately, not) We stayed there until the end and looked at the spectacle. At the final whistle x-stormed the field and spectators celebrated the victorious team frenetic. Was certainly very amusing.
The next day we had planned to make a bike tour that had been recommended to us and which was praised in the guide books. From Banos should along with the bike go down the Rio Negro Payo that about 66 Kilomter away from Banos. Unfortunately it was raining lightly when we got up, but decided but then to make the tour. Hug Just wanted to come along and would rather not go a little walk around Banos. So we rented mountain bikes for $ 5 and let us give a map with the route. The majority of them led to the main road down to Payo and it should only be "some small inclines. First, it was actually mainly downhill. After about 8 miles, we passed a bridge where rumhantierten several people with ropes. They offered a jump rope on the 25-meter-high bridge. Lueku finally found the courage and made the jump, it was to see him but that he was pretty scared :-) But I would have not done so respectfully. The guide spoke pretty good German and so we learned that He had worked 14 years as a guide for Alpine Rafting in Interlaken, where even partly responsible for the House was that you have introduced on-running metropolis, as he told us. We continued our journey and some Kilomter was more to admire a double waterfall, one with a small transport cable car went off the road into the canyon of the Rio Negro down, reached. Then you have crossed the river on a suspension bridge. On the other side we received the 50 cents a lady wanted to enter into the close of the waterfall to come and see the "ruins". We were not after all to see but finally paid the 50 cents to go to the waterfall and the "promised" by her ruins. The ruins turned out as any foundations, and a toilet which was on a ledge .... Back at the suspension bridge and showed the nice lady but a folder full of pictures and we saw what it was all about. About three months ago, a flood from the previously only made two simple waterfall and washed away a little paradise with you. Under the waterfall was previously a small hotel with a natural pool and lush gardens with tropical plants and flowers. It really must have been a little paradise. From the sadly nothing more to see, except gravel, stones, mud and slush. Very impressive how nature always leads us humans in mind that they are at last becoming mightier .... is something we could continue even with a other transport cable car ride over the entire canyon and look at the waterfall or from above. Here, too, saw the violence which had to have had the water is very impressive. Otherwise, however, the valley was we went through the incredibly beautiful with the bike. Wooded steep slopes and over smaller or bigger waterfalls. With the shutdown but then it was over and a few hefty counter slopes now followed the departures. Finally we had to abandon our plan to drive up to Payo and drove about 30 miles to a bus of our bikes on the roof band back to Banos. I'm still annoyed that I forgot my camera and these unique impressions and landscapes could not immortalize in photos. After we
were back in Banos, we went to eat something, and finally back to the hostel. Lueku bag and had already decided to go in the evening to Quito to explore the night life there a little. Hug, Fabio and I stayed in the quiet but cozy Banos and went to evening in a natural sulfur which we after a hard day but really enjoyed. Hug also was quite broken but it was an impressive line moved. But the bathroom was really great and even the volcano rumbled a few times threatening in the distance as if to remind us why we even sit in the bathroom could.
The next morning we went after we had yet seen the second half of the first World Cup game against 9 clock in the direction of Quito, being on the bus the game in Australia, Ghana has been transferred. had checked arriving in Quito, we took a taxi to the hotel in the bag and Lueku. We wanted something after the quarter in which we (La Mariscal) explore. Unfortunately it was raining at 15 degrees once again and we did a little tour and let us finally down for three hours in a Mongolian-All you can eat and beat us their bellies full. Included were (but watery) cocktails which we also down poured a few ;-) Finally, we went even further, into a tavern, kick AGAINST (with Hug and Fabio unbeaten remained unchanged Alternate bag Lueku and me) to finally have Beer Pong to play. A fun game where you do meet with a ping pong ball into cups of the other teams had to be, which is then drunk by the team. It caught me particularly hard. During bag & tip had only a cup, I had virtually the entire rest of the tough old ... what was then felt something :-) Finally we went in search of a ska-punk pub we look after a little too found, but sadly not the ska and punk pub as we had been recommended, but a normal disco. So we finally went back to the hostel. Today we had
far too early in the spring, but the game against LDU Quito awaited CD Olmedo was kicked off at 11 (!!!) clock.
Jun 20, 2010, LDU Quito - CD Olmedo
Seria A, Ecuador, Estadio La Casa Blanca, Quito about 3500 spectators (about 50 guests)
after we had unsuccessfully asked a few people on the street where the stadium lies because we took us a taxi and drove to the stadium. Outside the stadium very little going on in there and also in about 62 000 seater stadium any more. Ultimately, some 3,500 spectators gathered in the magnificent stadium which has some similarities with the Barcelona stadium in Guayaquil had one goal back about 100 LDU by fans sang at least 90 minutes. But otherwise was not very busy and the game was a one-sided affair. LDU quickly led 2-0 and shortly afterwards, a Olmedo games for a rather harmless foul also sent off. LDU was before the break through nice volley from a corner, the 3-0, which, in the second half to finish even higher bolted into a 5-0.
